James Brown (familiarly known as “JB”) is the current host of The NFL Today on CBS and Inside The NFL on Paramount+. He is also a special correspondent for CBS News, contributing across all of the network’s news platforms. A three-time Emmy Award-winning network broadcaster, JB has hosted the Super Bowl a record-breaking 10 times.
JB became an ordained minister in 2009 and released his first co-authored book, Role of a Lifetime: Reflections on Faith, Family and Significant Living, that same year. Since then, he’s preached at numerous churches and spoken at men’s conferences around the country. JB has appeared on many Christian network TV shows, such as The 700 Club and Trinity Broadcast Network, among others, where he hosts or co-hosts interviews and special programming.
JB co-hosts a program on YouTube with NFL Hall of Fame coach Tony Dungy called Beyond the Game, which focuses on people of faith in the sports industry. In 2014, JB received The Uncommon Award bestowed annually by Tony Dungy, to an individual exhibiting “Uncommon Leadership through Character and Faith.”
