Dr. Marcus “Goodie” Goodloe is an author and mentor who specializes in working with educators, business professionals, athletes, and faith communities on a range of issues including cultural and interpersonal relationships, leadership, emotional intelligence, and faith. He earned a master’s of divinity from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in San Francisco, California.
He was also the first African-American to earn a Ph.D. from Dallas Baptist University. Goodie serves as a senior fellow for ethics and justice at the Institute for Global Engagement at Dallas Baptist University, as well as an adjunct professor for the Gary Cook School of Leadership at DBU. He also serves as the department chaplain for Redondo Beach Police Department. Goodie is the author of King Maker: Applying Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Leadership Lessons in Working with Athletes and Entertainers and co-author of Habits: Six Steps to the Art of Influence. He and his wife, Lucy, live in the Los Angeles area and have two adult children.
